Who needs a gym when you have her?
Victor

Hello Era!
Van

Its always nice to see Victor and Van, and they picked a good weekend to visit - it was sunny for the second week in a row. Its their almost-annual spring visit, when Robson Street and Leone - Victor's favourite store - are packed with the newest and latest looks.

They also got a chance to catch up with Kiera, and as usual they lavished some major spoilage on her.

Ow.. OW.. MOMMMMMY'S HAIR! OWWW!
Ann

Kiera seems to explore more and more everyday, and besides putting anything that fits (or not...) into her mouth, she'll tug, pull and grab at anything within reach.

Especially if its Mommy's hair.

Its fascinating to watch as she interacts with the world around her. She watches what Ann does, she'll grab at what I'm holding and now when I feed her, she insists on having a hand on the bottle.

Wow. It even folds down to travel! We can bring it to my Mom's place when she babysits!
CK

Ann's co-workers organized a baby shower for her, but Ann never made it because of a snowstorm that day. So Sharmen came out on the weekend to visit, and brought the presents with her. And look at what Kiera got - her very own UFO!

Its an Exersaucer, but it might as well be 'Godsend' or Unbelievably Fun Object, because Kiera LOVES it. Our new recipe to 40 minutes of peace and quiet?

1. Add baby to UFO
2. Put Baby Einstein on
3. Relax

I lub this saucer!

She looks just like you!
Aunty C.C., to me

My sister lives and works in Bermuda, and she finally got to meet Kiera when she came home to visit. She was thrilled to see Kiki, and doted on her every day that she was here.

Aunty's only complaint: "Oooh you're heavy!" :)

We only get to see her two or three times a year, and its always a treat. For a week she will sit with us at our old dinner table, and it will feel just like she has never left. Home at my parents will feel like home again, and for a short while we get to be all together again.

My parents always said to us when we were growing up - Enjoy your time together now... there'll be lots less of it when you're all grown up. They were so right! And for that, I'm glad we followed their advice.

We miss you C.C.!

Ooooh, you are such a succulent baby!
Ann

Weekend mornings with Kiki are the best! She's so cheerful when she wakes up, and she loves playing after her breakfast feed. I've always been fond of my weekend sleep-in, but those days are long past I think. With Kiki around, early rising is something to look forward to.

Hmm, do you feed her when she's not hungry?
Dr. Maunsell

We brought Kiera to her 4 month weigh-in... er, check up - and its official! Kiki is... chubby. Dr Maunsell made sure we didn't feed when she wasn't hungry, that she was having only five feedings a day, and he seemed pretty impressed - or disturbed - that she takes 11 oz of formula for her last feed at night.

He was also impressed by her haircut ;)

So I guess the checkup went well. We had been a bit worried that her head on one side was too flat from sleeping on that side all the time, but he said that was fine. Next appointment in two months!

I like that Matt Cookie guy!
Ann

If the NHL is Canada's official religion, then the NHL trading deadline is Thanksgiving. Ann and I were lucky enough to get a pair of box seats at the game tonight, and though the new players the Canucks acquired that day weren't there yet, it was all the buzz at the rink.

What a great experience the box seats were - food, drinks, but Ann's favourite? The private washroom! The game was entertaining too, even if the Canucks came out the short end that night.

Mom and Dad looked after Kiera, but we hurried home anyways, even though it was a 'night off' - after a couple of hours, we're just anxious to get back to her.

I can't wait till she's old enough to go to a game.

What a good baby!
My mom

Kiki went in for her 4 month shot today, and it was - as far as she was concerned - a non-event. When it was time for her needle, she didn't even cry. Just a small grimace, a startled look, and all was well in the world again. What a champ!

The scoresheet that day: 17.4 oz, 26 in long. She is fast on her way to being a power forward or a rock defenceman! Or a rolly-polly-goalie :)
